When Colorado accountant Steve Greig's red miniature Pinscher, Wolfgang, passed away in 2012, his heartbreak lead him to a life changing mission. Steve decided to pay homage to his beloved Wolfgang by setting out to take home the "oldest, least adoptable" dogs in his local shelter. He went home with a 12-year old Chihuahua with bad knees and a heart murmur, and it all took off from there. Today he runs an Instagram account with over 700k followers in an effort to spread the word about senior dog adoption.

He chronicles all sorts of adventures with his canine family.

And showcases what superheroes these elderly little guys can be.

Steve has 9 dogs, but he also cares for a rabbit named Stuart and a pig named Bikini.

He addresses the pain that can come with caring for senior animals, because of course, he deals with a lot of loss.

But ultimately, the joy of giving these furry friends a second life makes up for all the heartache.
Anyone can help Steve with his mission to spread the beauty of senior pet adoption. He sells T-shirts and donates a large portion of the profits from each sale to Susie's Senior Dogs, a 501c3 nonprofit organization that finds homes for abandoned senior dogs in the United States.
